Steel Reinforced Polymer (SRP) composites are made from high strength twisted steel wires. This type of reinforcing system offers end-users the ability to put ultra high tensile strength steel (450 ksi) inside or outside almost any material. This creates a new class of reinforcement niched between carbon fibers and steel rebar. Polymeric resin and cementitious grout can be used to create the SRP composite system. The system provides the advantage of lower material cost while maintaining performance and installation benefits similar to those of concrete overlays and FRP composites.
SRP Advantages:
· High tensile strength
· Lightweight and thin
· Cost-efficient
· Compatible with various bonding adhesives
